Request to become pip maintainer

I have been contributing to pip from some time and done a good amount of
contribution. I want to become an official maintainer for pip and help make
pip better and better. Please, someone, guide me on how to become an
official maintainer for pip. This article
<https://pip.pypa.io/en/stable/development/> suggests that when you think
you are ready get in touch with a maintainer. I think I am ready and want
to devote some time to pip.
